Running to you. This painting was born from a quiet moment with God. As I worked, I kept returning to the image of running not in fear, but in freedom. A child moving without hesitation toward her Father, trusting fully that she is safe, seen, and welcomed.
I chose to paint the figures from behind to invite the viewer into the journey. There is space to place yourself in the scene to remember what it feels like to come to God with openness and childlike faith. Christ stands still, not distant, but present, waiting with patience and love.
This piece represents returning again and again to God’s presence. It is about surrender, grace, and the reassurance that we are always invited to draw near, no matter where we are coming from.
